Baseball Recap: Hilliard Comes Up Short

Hilliard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Christ's Church Academy Eagles, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Flashes of the 9-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hilliard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydon Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Allen's first of the season.

Hilliard's record now sits at 1-4. As for Christ's Church Academy, their record is now 2-3.

Looking ahead, Hilliard will face off against Charlton County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Christ's Church Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Old Plank Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christ's Church Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
