Basketball Game Preview: Gholson vs. Abbott Panthers

Gholson hasn't had much luck against Abbott recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Gholson will challenge Abbott at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Gholson put up the most points they have all season back in December of 2025. They blew past Evant, posting a 61-16 victory. Gholson has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Abbott faced off against Cranfills Gap on Friday. The Panthers really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-31 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The victory got Gholson back to even at 5-5. As for Abbott, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Gholson was taken down by Abbott 56-24 in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Can Gholson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
