In what's become a running theme this season, Deer Creek-Mackinaw gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the El Paso-Gridley Titans as the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs made off with an 8-1 victory. The win was just what Deer Creek-Mackinaw needed coming off of a 6-0 loss in their prior contest.
Lexi Cottingham was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Droege, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Deer Creek-Mackinaw back to even at 5-5. As for El Paso-Gridley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will take on Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bloomington Central Catholic will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Deer Creek-Mackinaw surely won't give up without a fight. As for El Paso-Gridley, they will be playing at home against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
