Basketball Recap: Crest Chargers vs. Forestview Jaguars

The Crest Chargers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Forestview with points to spare, taking the game 58-44. That's another feather in the cap for Crest, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Crest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was De'kaylia Davis out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Davis is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Nautica Freeman, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Forestview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Blair Riley, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Riley has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Baker, who scored 11 points.

Crest's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Forestview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crest will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Huss is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. As for Forestview, they will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Point is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Jaguars a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
