Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Humboldt can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Ellinwood Eagles on Friday. The Cubs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-10.

Ricklyn Hillmon paced Humboldt's offense, picking up eight kills. Hillmon got some help from Lakyn Meadows and her nine assists.

Ellinwood can attribute much of their success to Bennett Jacobs, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Jacobs has posted since back in September.

Humboldt's loss dropped their record down to 34-12. As for Ellinwood, their win was their 20th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 44-0.

Humboldt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ellinwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson County North on the 1st.
