Volleyball Recap: Lorena Bustamante and Christina Reyes Secure Win for Center Point

Center Point barely beat Knippa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Crushers on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.

Center Point was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16, 25-19.

Leading Center Point to victory were Christina Reyes and Lorena Bustamante. Reyes had 16 digs and one assist, while Bustamante had 11 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Bustamante a new career-high. Brenda Gallegos also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Center Point's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Knippa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Center Point will welcome Stacey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Knippa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Pryor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
