Softball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Muskego

Muskego proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Hamilton Chargers. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 6-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Samantha Brunner was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Reese Heinrich, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Muskego lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Muskego's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Coincidentally, Muskego and Hamilton will both be playing Union Grove the next time they take the field. The Chargers will head out to face the Broncos at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
