Softball Recap: Belpre Victorious

Belpre was handed a 12-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Wirt County Tigers 1-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Belpre saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Stewart, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Belpre's record now sits at 7-9. As for Wirt County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-12 record.

Looking ahead, Belpre will face off against Fort Frye at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cadets have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Wirt County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
