Baseball Recap: J.R. Tucker's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Deep Run, J.R. Tucker was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Varina Blue Devils. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Wood, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Walker Perkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

J.R. Tucker moved to 2-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Varina, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
