Baseball Game Preview: Natchez Bulldogs vs. Crystal Springs Tigers

Natchez is 6-1 against Crystal Springs since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Natchez Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crystal Springs Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Crystal Springs took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Natchez, who comes in off a win.

Natchez not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th. They blew past South Pike 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Natchez let Chris Sewell and Martavis Woods run wild. Sewell scored two runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Woods scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Sewell a new career-high. Jaylin Neal was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Natchez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Pike only posted an OBP of .385.

Meanwhile, Crystal Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Raymond.

The win made it two in a row for Natchez and bumps their season record up to 6-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Crystal Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Natchez took their victory against Crystal Springs in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 11-3. Does Natchez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crystal Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
