Lyons hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost three straight) but thanks in part to Ava Vasquez that streak is no more. The Lyons Lions simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Clear Creek Golddiggers 55-16 with plenty of help from Vasquez, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 14 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Gretta Wynja, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (six).

Clear Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mia Primus, who posted six points, and Zoe Carreon, who earned six points.

Lyons' record now sits at 13-6. As for Clear Creek, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Coming up, Lyons will venture away from home to face off against Bishop Machebeuf at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clear Creek, they will head out on the road to challenge Dawson School at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
