Basketball Game Preview: Grand Haven Buccaneers vs. East Kentwood Falcons

Grand Haven and East Kentwood are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Grand Haven Buccaneers will welcome the East Kentwood Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grand Haven's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Grand Haven is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since February 23, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past West Ottawa 73-70. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Panthers are ranked 176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, East Kentwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 47-43 to Saginaw United. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grand Haven's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for East Kentwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
