Basketball Game Preview: Gouverneur Wildcats vs. Harrisville Pirates

The Gouverneur Wildcats and the Harrisville Pirates will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After dropping their season opener at home, Harrisville is headed out to face a Wildcats team ready to give their home crowd a win. Gouverneur took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin Academy. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Harrisville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canton. The matchup marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gouverneur will need focus on slowing down Joe Shepherd, one of several Harrisville players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 14 points. Aiden Chartrand was another key player, putting up nine points.

Gouverneur didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Harrisville when the teams last played back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 69-65 win.
