Softball Recap: Greenwood Wins Going Away Against Alpine

Greenwood's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Alpine Bucks as the Greenwood Rangers made off with a 7-1 win. Considering the Rangers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Berkley Jenkins looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Addison Arredondo was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Brylee Savage was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Greenwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Greenwood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. Alpine's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Greenwood has already played their next game, a 6-1 loss against Chisholm Trail on the 22nd. As for Alpine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy on the 22nd.
