Basketball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short

Escalante was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-22 loss at the hands of the Questa Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-33 on January 2nd.

Among those leading the charge was Kamryn Cardenas, who posted ten points along with six steals and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Alianna Gonzales was another key player, putting up ten points.

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Questa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Escalante didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-32 loss against Mesa Vista on the 25th. As for Questa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-31 victory against Mora on the 25th.
