Football Recap: Tamaqua Falls to Pen Argyl in First Game of Season

Tamaqua unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 14-6 to the Pen Argyl Green Knights on Friday. The Blue Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Chase Serfass threw for 110 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Ace Schickram was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards. On the ground, Terrence McDowell Jr rushed for 59 yards and one TD.

The critical scores for Pen Argyl came from Jakob Pietraszkiewicz and Caiden Faust.

Tamaqua and Pen Argyl will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Blue Raiders are set to square off against their familiar foe North Schuylkill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pen Argyl will challenge rival Palmerton at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
