Baseball Game Preview: Niles Notre Dame Dons vs. Lake View Wildcats

The Niles Notre Dame Dons will take on the Lake View Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Niles Notre Dame has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while Lake View will come in with four straight victories.

On Saturday, Niles Notre Dame came up short against Nazareth Academy and fell 7-2.

Niles Notre Dame got a good showing from Christian Lopez, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

Meanwhile, Lake View's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Steinmetz College Prep a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lake View pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Niles Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1.
