Basketball Recap: Asheville Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Asheville challenged Hendersonville on Wednesday. The Cougars took a blow against the Bearcats, falling 68-29. The Cougars have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Asheville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jams Skyes, who posted no points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ruhland, who put up six points.

Jaylon Wynn was his usual excellent self, shooting 55% from the field en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals for Hendersonville. Those eight boards gave Wynn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Archer, who earned 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Asheville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hendersonville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Asheville will challenge Landrum at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hendersonville, they will square off against West Henderson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats' defense better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 55 points per game this season.
