Softball Recap: Gonzaga Prep Comes Up Short

Gonzaga Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mead Panthers, falling 24-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on April 1st.

Gonzaga Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abrihet Epps, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Epps has hit this season.

Gonzaga Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Mead, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Coming up, Gonzaga Prep will face off against Cheney at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mead, they will challenge Shadle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
