Soccer Game Preview: Laurel vs. Stone

The Laurel Golden Tornadoes and the Stone Tomcats will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laurel is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Laurel is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against North Forrest on Monday. Laurel fell just short of North Forrest by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Tornadoes have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stone). They never let Wayne County onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday. The score was close at the half, but the Tomcats pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Stone is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Laurel, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-2.
