Softball Recap: Watkins Memorial Comes Up Short

Watkins Memorial fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Heath on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 11-7 to the Bulldogs. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kyliee Trouten was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Langwasser, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Watkins Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Heath, they moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Watkins Memorial will face off against rival Licking Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Heath is set to challenge their familiar foe Northridge at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
