Basketball Recap: Luke Mccrimon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Osceola over Oviedo

After flying high against Gateway on Friday, Osceola came back down to earth. The Kowboys took a 72-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oviedo Lions on Monday. The Kowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Osceola's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Mccrimon, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Mccrimon's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mason, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 15 points and seven assists.

Osceola's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Oviedo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Osceola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-65 win against Centennial on the 18th. As for Oviedo, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Parkview at 3:45 p.m. on the 27th. The Lions' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 63.4 points per game this season.
