After losing to Union County the last time they met, Pickens decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Dragons skirted past the Panthers 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Pickens who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 15-11.

Edy Wyngaard paced Pickens' offense, picking up 16 kills. Wyngaard got some help from Sophia Derstine and her 22 assists. Wyngaard was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Pickens' win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Union County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.

Coincidentally, Pickens and Union County will both be playing Woodland the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Dragons will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
