Baseball Recap: Montclair Comes Up Short

Montclair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-2 to the West Essex Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 on April 3rd.

Montclair's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for West Essex, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Montclair will head out to square off against Columbia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mounties are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for West Essex, they will challenge Hanover Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Hornets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
