Volleyball Recap: Kambri Mccabe Key Part of Team Effort in Eagles Win

Veribest came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Sterling City, but Charley Wilson wouldn't allow it. The Eagles skirted past the Falcons 3-2 with plenty of help from Wilson, who had 18 digs, 17 kills, and one block. She has been hot, having posted nine or more kills the last six times she's played.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Sterling City who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 14-25, 25-11, 18-25, 15-9.

Sterling City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kambri McCabe out in front who had 18 digs and seven kills. That's the most digs McCabe has posted over her last six games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Caldwell, who had 15 kills and eight digs.

Sterling City has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Veribest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Sterling City and Christoval will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Veribest, they will be playing at home against Albany at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
