Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Lions vs. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights

The Marshall Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marshall will head into Saturday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 42) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Arcola, sneaking past 52-50.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Villa Grove 60-12. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their 25-point performance the match before.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. As for Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.

Everything came up roses for Marshall against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marshall since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
