Basketball Recap: Marion Center Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Noah Mccoy and Kamden Rozier

Marion Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays. The Stingers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Jays from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Marion Center's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kamden Rozier, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, and Noah Mccoy, who posted 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Mccoy has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Kutsch, who earned five points.

Conemaugh Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Korhut, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. Korhut continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Henry, who had 17 points.

Marion Center's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Conemaugh Valley, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Marion Center has already played their next game, a 73-54 loss against Conemaugh Township on the 10th. As for Conemaugh Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-58 win against Penns Manor on the 10th.
