Softball Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood suffered their closest loss since April 22, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Highland Fighting Scots by a score of 5-3. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Scots earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Lakewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Crist, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Highland, their record now sits at 10-6.

Coming up, Lakewood is taking a road trip to challenge Utica at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they will head out to take on Pleasant at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Scots are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
