Football Recap: Clovis Beats Buchanan for Their Third Straight Win

Clovis won the last time they faced Buchanan and James Curoso did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 25-0 victory on Friday for which the team can thank Curoso, who rushed for 87 yards and four TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Carlos Young, who picked up 168 receiving yards. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 56 yards.

The win was the third in a row for Clovis, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games. As for Buchanan, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Clovis is set to square off against their familiar foe Clovis North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Deagan Rose and Lucas Smith. Meanwhile, Buchanan will take on rival Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
