Softball Recap: St. Pius X Wins Going Away Against Klein Forest

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Woodlands Christian Academy, St. Pius X was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Klein Forest Eagles. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Kennedy Flenner 2026 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Julie Tresco 2025 was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Abi Odom 2025, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

St. Pius X kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klein Forest only managed five hits.

St. Pius X has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. Klein Forest is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, St. Pius X will be taking part in a tournament against Kinkaid at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Klein Forest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Klein Forest has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
