Basketball Recap: Combine Academy National Takes a Loss

Combine Academy National kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost to the Queen's Grant Stallions on the road by a 68-50 margin.

Bobby Montgomery III was nothing short of spectacular for Queen's Grant: he shot 56% from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points. Those 29 points gave Montgomery III a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Allen, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds.

The win was the third in a row for Queen's Grant, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Combine Academy National won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Concord Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Queen's Grant, they and Forsyth Country Day will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
