Softball Recap: Richmond-Burton Takes a Loss

Richmond-Burton fell victim to Kenosha Bradford and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 2-0. That's two games in a row now that the Rockets have lost by exactly two runs.

Madison Kunzer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Richmond-Burton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8-1. As for Kenosha Bradford, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond-Burton will host Marengo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenosha Bradford, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Franklin at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Red Devils have won 15 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Sabers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
