Softball Recap: Model Takes a Loss

Model couldn't beat Paul Laurence Dunbar on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Patriots lost 19-4 to the Bulldogs. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Rylli Hunt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Model's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Model will challenge Williamsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.41 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they will face off against Bryan Station at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Defenders' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
