Preview: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. Canal Winchester Indians
The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Canal Winchester Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Worthington Kilbourne's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Francis DeSales. Worthington Kilbourne has not had much luck with St. Francis DeSales recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Te'mar Lewis, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Gallogly, who scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks.
Canal Winchester suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Big Walnut at home and fell 70-29. While losing is never fun, Canal Winchester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while Big Walnut is ranked 46th).
Worthington Kilbourne's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Canal Winchester, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Worthington Kilbourne took their win against Canal Winchester in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 55-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Worthington Kilbourne since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
