Football Recap: Lower Dauphin Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Lower Dauphin unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Shippensburg Greyhounds by a score of 23-20. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 24-23 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Mark Carothers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shippensburg, rushing for 100 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 31 receiving yards.

Lower Dauphin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Shippensburg, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lower Dauphin will take on rival Palmyra at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Shippensburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Carothers and Preston Burnett.
