Baseball Game Preview: Coopersville Broncos vs. Kenowa Hills Knights

For the second straight game, Coopersville will face off against Kenowa Hills. The Broncos will be playing at home against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Coopersville 2.6, Kenowa Hills 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Coopersville is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Kenowa Hills just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 8-2 to the Knights.

For Kenowa Hills' part, Chastyn Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits. Cole has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Fussman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 15 games. Another player making a difference was Payton Paiz, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

With the win, Kenowa Hills broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-6-1. As for Coopersville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-2-1.
