Softball Preview: Sayre Redskins vs. Williamson Warriors
Sayre is 1-9 against Williamson since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sayre Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Williamson Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Sayre will be strutting in after a win while Williamson will be coming in after a loss.
Sayre gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on Canton with a sharp 16-8 victory.
Raegan Parrish made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Parrish was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abbie Mcgaughey, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
