New Kent is 8-2 against Grafton since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will take on the Clippers. New Kent is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.

New Kent is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Colonial Heights get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly five runs.

The result came thanks to Jonah Sorrell's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brody Cash was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Andrew Staskiel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

New Kent was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

Meanwhile, Grafton waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Tigers.

New Kent's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grafton, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

New Kent skirted past Grafton 4-2 when the teams last played back in May. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Clippers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
