After a string of five wins, Franklin's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Lexington Eagles by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Franklin took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 26-24, 17-25, 25-14, 25-13.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-20. As for Lexington, their win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-9.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Franklin is set to square off against their familiar foe Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lexington will take on rival Little River Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
