Basketball Recap: Kettering Comes Up Short

Kettering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Walled Lake Western Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-45 back in December of 2024.

Kettering's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Walled Lake Western, their win bumped their record up to 7-16.

Kettering and Walled Lake Western could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Kettering will challenge Lake Orion at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 457 places (561 vs. 104). Meanwhile, Walled Lake Western (ranked 351st) will meet South Lyon East (ranked 157th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
