Basketball Recap: Syracuse Starts Season with Victory at Home

Syracuse gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 win over the Fremont Silverwolves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Colton Hoenigman went supernova, going 9-for-14 en route to 28 points and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Robinson, who posted 22 points.

Despite the loss, Fremont still got an impressive performance from Cam Campbell, who shot 61% from the field on his way to 25 points. Easton Hansen was another key player, putting up 16 points and five assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Syracuse will head out to take on Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fremont, they will venture away from home to face off against Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
