Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Smidt Tech

Smidt Tech entered their tilt with Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tigers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Smidt Tech not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus between 17 and 19 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-19.

Smidt Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gio Lopez, who had nine aces and five kills. Lopez is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least five every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Israel Beltran, who had eight kills and five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Smidt Tech was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in three consecutive contests.

Smidt Tech now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
