Baseball Recap: Elmwood Victorious

Elmwood posted their closest victory since April 25, 2024 on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Wynford 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Elmwood.

Abraham Keiffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Elmwood's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Marsh, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Marsh has posted over his last 11 matches.

Elmwood's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Wynford, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmwood will venture away from home to face off against Genoa Area at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wynford, they will head out to take on Colonel Crawford at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
