Soccer Recap: Eastside Falls Short Against Ranked Ashley Ridge

On Sunday, Eastside faced Ashley Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Eastside Eagles fell just short of the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Swamp Foxes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 last Saturday.

Eastside's goal came courtesy of Christos Fotinos, which was the first he's scored this season.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ashley Ridge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Spartanburg on the 3rd. As for Ashley Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 2-2 victory against May River on the 4th.
