Basketball Game Preview: De Beque Dragons vs. Manzanola Bobcats

The De Beque Dragons will take on the Manzanola Bobcats in a tournament on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (De Beque has six straight wins, Manzanola has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

De Beque is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Hayden by a score of 72-59 on Saturday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Tigers are ranked 140th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead De Beque to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Graham, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 19 rebounds. Graham's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Manual Soto, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 17 points and three steals.

De Beque was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They posted nine more assists than Hayden's also-impressive total of 12.

Meanwhile, Manzanola played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Cheraw 60-26. The Bobcats were down 48-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Manzanola's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for De Beque, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
