Football Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 57-26 loss at the hands of the Chandler Prep Titans. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Scottsdale Preparatory Academy lost on Friday, don't look at Will Ryken. Despite the final result, he rushed for 169 yards and four scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.

Kody Dodson had a dynamite game For Chandler Prep., rushing for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 317 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. That's the most passing yards Dodson has posted since back in September of 2024. Aaron Crawford was another key player, picking up 159 receiving yards and three scores.

Coming up, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will head out to square off against Veritas Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chandler Prep, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Trivium Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
