While Academy of the Sacred Heart's victory against Richard wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gazelles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pioneers 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Academy of the Sacred Heart in their matchups with Richard: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Detroit Cristo Rey fell victim to Cardinal Mooney Catholic and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to the Cardinals. Detroit Cristo Rey have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Detroit Cristo Rey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Academy of the Sacred Heart, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-6-1.

Everything went Academy of the Sacred Heart's way against Detroit Cristo Rey in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Academy of the Sacred Heart made off with a 5-0 victory.
