Baseball Recap: Granby Triumphs

After losing to Chicopee the last time they met, Granby decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Pacers 4-3 on Saturday.

Joseph Barrett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Granby is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-12 otherwise. Barrett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

Barrett wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Moreno, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Granby pushed their record up to 4-14 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chicopee, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

As of now, neither Granby nor the Pacers have any future games scheduled.
