Volleyball Recap: Aurora Takes a Loss

Aurora extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 3-0 to the Carl Junction Bulldogs. If the Houn Dawgs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Carl Junction, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Leading Carl Junction to victory were Grace Carrier and Ella Matney. Carrier had 13 digs, while Matney had four aces. Those four aces gave Matney a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Aurora will venture away from home to face off against Strafford at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carl Junction, they will host Springfield Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
