Basketball Recap: Mater Brickell Academy's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Mater Brickell Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Marcos Colio. The Mater Brickell Academy Bulls secured a 62-58 W over the Ransom Everglades Raiders on Saturday thanks in part to Colio, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high.

Sergio Murtinho was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Despite the loss, Ransom Everglades still got an impressive performance from Matheus Dabus, who posted ten points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Gumbs, who put up ten points and seven steals.

Mater Brickell Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Ransom Everglades, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Mater Brickell Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-63 loss against Immaculata-La Salle on the 13th. As for Ransom Everglades, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-46 defeat against Don Soffer Aventura on the 14th.
